Harry Potter Thon

This weekend is a Harry Potter Marathon. I'm on Goblet of Fire. This is how exciting my life is this week. In other news, I didn't realise my car wasn't MOTd or taxed so I'm not driving at the moment, and I've had a shitty week.

The Gay Carter & The Father That Should Be

Image
The Carters have been a brilliant addition to the square on EastEnders, their drama, amongst others have invigorated the show, and by the way, I think they're doing an amazing job. But something they're doing particularly well with, is showing the world just what a father should be. Danny Dyer, a man who you expect to be a proper East End man who would throw a gay son out onto the streets (something I would have expected my own father to do) is actually appearing to be a brilliant role model as the perfect father. The scenes where Johnny came out to his father, the emotions, was beautiful. A perfect father and son moment, and the true acceptance Johnny received was marvellous to watch. It was such a touching moment in television, and refreshing to not have a non-accepting father. In fact this whole story had been dealt with great sensitivity, and has been great to watch. Good Job EastEnders and Dominic! Let's hope it stays this good!

Other Ways

This was our second year 16mm drama production. Starring Kevin Kamara and Itoya Osagiede, it follows the two men's struggles with gang culture. With a crew of 15 and several extras required, it didn't come without it's production issues, but everyone worked out in the end and I'm very proud of the work everyone put in, and I'm proud to have produced this. The story involved the issue of knife crime and teenage gang culture, hinting at the peer pressures of teenage violence.

The Christmas Documentary

Our first main second year project was the Documentary. After many pre-production problems, we eventually managed to produce a documentary around people's views on Christmas. Sara and I managed to get this idea from production to reality in less than five days. Our documentary was originally going to be on midget comedians or something. I was Camera Operator for this project on the Canon 5D. I was especially proud of the time lapse, in which I took every single photo but on, my cameo photograph. We got some really great shots and got a great variety of people to talk to us about Christmas.

On The Rocks

Produced by Tyler O'Connor Directed by Ross Lanchester. Written By Ross Lanchester. Starring James Snee, Chris Ilston & Phillippe Duquenoy. The film follows a group of friends who meet their rock idol, who isn't the same man they thought he'd be, before he gives them some stellar advice from his past mistakes. This was my collaborative project at university. We worked as a 15 man crew and filmed on 16mm film. I am very proud of the effort put into it by all. I received a 2:1 for it. This film was shown at our 2nd Year Film Screening. And got into the final of the Wiltshire Preloader Festival.

Blood & Truth

Blood & Truth TizRheaD Pre-Movies Presents the 11th short film: Blood & Truth. Written, Produced and Directed by Tyler O'Connor. Starring Hannah Mae Trow and Philip Hurst. Set in a world where wizards are hidden, 2 cousins meet to discover a family secret that could change the world. This was my production project at university. I am unhappy with some out of focus shots and the story is perhaps a little too far out for a short film, but overall very pleased with my first year project. I received a 2:1 for it. This film was shown at our 2nd Year Film Screening.

Salisbury Wildlife Centre Documentary

Image
I'm going to spend the next few posts about the films I've made. The first piece of work I'm actually proud of was the 'Salisbury Wildlife Centre Documentary' It's a short piece about a local wildlife centre and how they work with the animals. It was great fun to produce, with a brilliant crew.

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date

Lateness to work shall cease forever more. I love my job, but there is one or two, (and read one or two as one) people that shouldn't be there. Cannot say anymore than that, at least not on the internet. I can't wait for my meal with my boss to discuss such things. I got more organisation done today, a folder for what I'm in charge of with goals and everything, literally just too cool for school. Plan for the weekend: Wii Fit, Tidy Room, Write some Jack Union, and get going on my 1001 things to do before I die. That last thing too is to try and watch a film! One more thing, find a co-producer & co-director, possibly the same person! Now, Sherlock last night was brilliant. I though the whole reuniting storyline was a little bit annoying and pointless, but the tantalising theories of how Sherlock survived without never truly revealing it was brilliant television and the bomb sequence was dramatic and comedic! Looking forward to going back to Salisbury

Could you imagine the look on ol' McGonagall's face if we were late?

God Damn It! I was 45 minutes late to work today, all because my alarm didn't go off on my iPad. How frustrating. It's happened a good few times in the holidays, got to sort it out. I'm so lucky I have such a good job like I do. One where they don't get angry for silly mistakes like lateness, and constantly praise you on a job well done. I love loving my job. Operations Executive TID. After a frustrating shop the other day where I couldn't find any decent shoes my size (13! Yes, they're big!) My shoes finally arrived today, so am excited to wear them tomorrow. And now I'm on to catching up on BBC iPlayer. Was ever so surprised at how good New Years EastEnders was. Since Dominic Treadwell-Collins has taken over as executive producer, there has been a vast improvement in the show. Their aim to be the best drama in the country seems to be succeeding, with better story-lines, improved acting, a great cast and a fresh few ideas in improving the cinemati

Spreadsheets not SpreadLegs

Image
So I've got my spreadsheet ready to track my progress of my new years resolutions, I want to succeed in all of them! I'll try and keep up my progress on my blog but I can't make any guarantees! Anyone who regularly reads this will know they can't read it regularly with my awful schedule. However, today I'm going to focus on getting my bucket list going! Once I've finished putting the Christmas decorations down and getting ready for the family to come over. Then tomorrow it'll be good to get back to work at Catalina Marketing UK. Still loving my job, and loving looking forward to my job. Also, my plan for this week is to come up with a five year plan. I really do need to think about the future and what steps I need to take to get there. It's time to say goodbye to old flings, previous thoughts and old experiences, and start thinking about the NEW. All this after watching a couple of episodes of Glee obviously. TizRheaD
